Our Story
Where We Began.
We would like to acknowledge the late William (Butchie/Bill) P. Grady II. Mr. Grady was the original founder of The Opportunity For Change, which began as a program for at-risk students at Brookline High School in Massachusetts, back in the 1980's.
In the summer of 2018, under the handle "The Opportunity For Change" on Instagram, the message was spread about having the ability to change our states of being by starting with mindset and lifestyle habits.
Acting Purposefully.
We empower individuals looking to show up for themselves by challenging perceptions revolving patriarchy, limiting beliefs that affect our self-esteem, and introducing new skillsets.
We encourage acting in mindfulness through deep shadow work, expression of the body, general fitness, reading, journaling, and expression through art. These fundamentals are a few of the practices we use to seek the opportunity for change in our own lives to manifest the best versions of ourselves.
The Mission.
Through health, wellness and art, The Opportunity For Change offers an outlet to people struggling with issues like imposter syndrome. We partner with individuals looking for guidance in boundary setting, how to effectively communicate their desires, and ways to manage health and wellness without the “burn out” effect.
We believe in the importance of healing trauma, karmic cycles, and patriarchal conditioning, with intensions to live a nurturing lifestyle abundant in self acceptance and self-esteem.
The Vision.
It’s long over due, for men especially, to grant themselves the permission to own their vulnerabilities, insecurities, sensitivities, and boundaries without fear of critique and judgement.
Having the ability to advocate for yourself can be liberating and rewarding, though it’s hard work. We’re responsible for our choices and capable of taking accountability for our actions. Ultimately, its up to us to be our authentic selves, while growing through stereotypes, stigmas, and taboo conversions.
